Populist Pipes - Conservative Cartoon

The Republicans have been suffering an identity crisis. Mike Flynn of Breitbartidentifies them as the party of slightly less tax hikes.

Pat Caddell wonders if Republicans might go the way of the Whigs. A century and a half ago the Whigs couldn’t come up with an immigration policy. The Irish joined the melting pot and Whigs melted away.

Thomas Sowell wonders why Republicans don’t play the tune that Obama is the “master of the plausible lie”. The lie being that “Bush tax cuts for the rich caused the current deficits”. Tax revenues actually went up, not down, and the deficit declined, after the Bush tax cuts. Here’s a graph in IBD.
