Conservative on Target! 11/7/12

It is increasingly obvious that the GOP failed us miserably! They evidently had no idea what our population looks like. For instance, there are 250,000 more blacks and Hispanics in FL than 4 years ago! Their much vaunted ground game was nowhere near up to the task. They looked more like entrenched elites looking to share the public teat rather than those who would cause the structural/moral change we need.

The GOP Got Punk’d: I listened to Romney debate. I read Romney’s speeches. I know his governing record. The left did, too. Did you? I heard three things in his Five Point Plan: Hope and change, more spending, more government. And, as far as the left was concerned, every time Romney or Ryan said “Five Point Plan”, they may as well have been saying “Nine. Nine. Nine”.

The GOP, in order to be competitive, will have to find a way to re-orient itself to appeal to a broader population, with intentional, reciprocal relationships that identify and leverage their shared values and goals, rather than trading on assumption and judgment. This is possible without compromising ideals, but the effort to appeal to a broader constituency is the only option for the viability of the “Big Tent” party. And governing with that broader appeal in mind is the clear path forward. [Be very careful here. I do agree that we don’t need to compromise conservative principles to include a broader population! I’m not too sure about “Big Tents”.]

To the Extent that Conservatism Was on the Ballot, It Was Not Defeated: Our only choice is to stand for bold colors and work on changing hearts and minds.  Short of giving up and becoming Democrats, we have no choice.  The moderate Republican Party is as bankrupt as America will be after Obama’s second term.  They are out of ideas, out of luck, and out of time. It’s time for real change within the Republican Party.

The perpetually re-elected establishment rigidly controls the entrenched two party system, which conveniently calls itself Democrat and Republican. They are two sides of the same coin, and two wings on the same bird of prey. They both represent the Progressive central-planners who believe government is the answer when we know it is the problem. No matter which side wins the government grows and devours more of the nation’s output and its wealth. The election results ratify the electoral majorities’ union with the statists.

(Some of) Why We Lost The Republic: Conservatives have long bemoaned liberal dominance in education from the universities on down, but we haven't done anything about it.  Marxist intellectuals realized decades ago that the eventual victory of socialism would be assured if leftists dominated the educational system and used their influence to push a leftist worldview.  The power of their "long march" through the cultural institutions was that it was not necessary for students to consciously convert to socialist thinking; generation after generation would simply be gradually immersed in the assumptions and dogmas of the left.
As long as the left has controlled the schools, time has always been on their side. We lost the Republic in the classroom long before we lost it in the voting booth.

What Would George Washington Say About the 2012 Election?
“And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle[This article is a must read!]

1Tim 2:1-2:  I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself.
There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide." -- John Adams [John, this is why we are not a democracy but a Republic!]
