Kipling knew Obama

Although Rudyard Kipling died twenty-five years prior to the birth of Barack Obama, he nonetheless knew him far better than those who cast their vote him in 2008. Mr. Kipling understood the dire consequences that are produced when unfit leaders ascend to the seat of power and the warning that he penned rings ominously true today.

His feet are swift to tumult,
His hands are slow to toil,
His ears are deaf to reason,
His lips are loud in broil.
He knows no use for power
Except to show his might.
He gives no heed to judgment
Unless it prove him right.

His vows are lightly spoken,
His faith is hard to bind,
His trust is easy broken,
He fears his fellow kind.
The nearest mod will move him
To break the pledge he gave-
Oh, a Servant when he Reigneth
Is more than ever slave.
