'Is The Tea Party Over?': Want to know just how scared of the Tea Party America's media are?: On Sunday, the Chicago Tribune's Clarence Page published a column entitled "Is The Tea Party Over?"… “Grass-roots movements are like bees, an old saying goes, they sting and then they die. The tea party, like the original Boston Tea Party, fits what the founders called a movement of the moment. Like others, the teas are likely to melt, at best, into one of the major parties.” > Maybe, but this might be wishful thinking. The reality is the Tea Party is the most powerful grassroots movement to hit America's shores in decades, and its real power and impact might yet to be fully felt… If Page thinks Americans are going to look at what's happened in the past four years and blame it all on the Tea Party I've got some swampland in Florida I'd like to show him. [ You know, Folks, we must be doing something right when the whole left is telling all who’ll listen that we brought down the country during the Debt Limit Debacle. I can only wish that we are as influential as they are trying to make us. Bring on the demagoguery! It can only help us. – JS]
Liberals Buzz Over Brutal Takedown of Obama:In a new sign of President Obama's troubles with his Democratic base, liberal bloggers and activists are buzzing over a new essay that is profoundly critical of Obama's supposed betrayal of liberal ideals. The article is "What Happened to Obama?" by Emory University psychology professor Drew Westen in Sunday's New York Times... [Incredible! The liberal left is now finding the same faults in Obummer that conservatives have been for years. – JS]
Obama in bunker mode after downgrade?: One might think that after a historic shock to the American economy in the first serious downgrade of our credit rating in decades, an American President would want to speak to a worried nation about the future and his plans to address the situation. Instead of taking an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, Barack Obama instead spent the weekend away from public scrutiny at Camp David. ABC News reports this morning that Obama won’t talk publicly today, either …Well, that’s not entirely true. Obama will make two public appearances this evening, Mary Bruce notes … at two fundraisers. With no cameras allowed.
New Obamacare Violations of Personal Liberty: Liberals say government should be kept out of your bedroom. What they mean by this is that it shouldn’t interfere with what you do there, not that it shouldn’t force taxpayers to pay for it… Liberals are committed to religious freedom as long as those religious values do not conflict with their liberal values. Which, practically, means all religion… Meanwhile, what we have is another in a vast universe of mandated new health care entitlements that is Obamacare. It is the convoluted logic of the liberal mind to use government power to mandate and subsidize free goodies, to sever all links between individual behavior and its consequences, and then claim this will lead to lower costs and more efficiency.
"Although the legal and ethical definitions of right are the antithesis of each other, most writers use them as synonyms. They confuse power with goodness, and mistake law for justice." -- Charles T. Sprading [It would thus seem that most of our press are liberals! – JS]
