Conservative onTarget! Guns and more …

Video: Police officer threatens concealed-carry driver with execution, beating > [This faces the issue of declaring to an officer when stopped that you have a concealed weapon permit. I have asked five police officers how they want someone they have stopped if and how they want to be told that the person is licensed and carrying. I’ve gotten five very different answers! – JS]

imageBreak Glass in Case of War – Viet Nam Redux > [This is a must read dealing with the us “shooting our wounded”. As a Viet Nam Marine I understand. Today I work with a Marine with a less than honorable discharge who came home from “Nam and went a bit off the reservation. He is denied VA benefits which he badly needs. Seems losing half your company and a whole ammo dump doesn’t mean much… – JS]

The prospect of having their spending limit go down and their race cards invalidated frightens Democrats more than anything else except for the rise of a responsible African-American leadership. That is the one thing that could take away their power.  So it’s no wonder that black Congressman Allen West is under fire.  He is the antidote to Sheila Jackson Lee, Charlie Rangel, Barbara Lee and Carolyn Kilpatrick–men and women with few ideas, a high level of corruptibility and a great willingness to play the race card on behalf of their party.

Death is the leading cause of job loss at 15 federal agencies. Two such agencies did not fire or lay of a single worker last year, despite employing a total of 3,000 workers.

Flabby with Small Passions: The greatest enemy of holiness is not passion; it is apathy. Look at Jesus. He was no milksop. His life was charged with passion. After he drove the crooks from the temple, "his disciples remembered that it is written: 'Zeal for your house will consume me'" (John 2:17)

OBAMA OVER ROMNEY IN OHIO, BARELY. Count Ohio as another swing state in which President Obama is seeing anemic poll numbers. A Quinnipiac University poll out this morning shows Obama leading Mitt Romney by a slim 45 percent to 41 percent margin, as 50 percent of Buckeye voters disapprove of his job performance. At least Obama's ahead; in recent weeks, we've seen polls showing him trailing Romney or Texas Gov. Rick Perry in key swing states like Iowa, North Carolina, and even Michigan.

"We might come closer to balancing the Budget if all of us lived closer to the Commandments and the Golden Rule." Ronald Reagan

The Wall Street Journal reports: "Companies are laying off employees at a level not seen in nearly a year, hobbling the job market and intensifying fears about the pace of the economic recovery." U.S. manufacturing, which had been the world leader for a century, is in serious decline compared to the manufacturing of other advanced countries like Germany, Japan, and Switzerland whose wages and social expenditures are far above those of the United States, according to a new report released by the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).

"If liberals can seize our guns because they are dangerous, we have no chance of holding on to our cars and our homes. The total number of accidental fatalities (the majority of which are hunting accidents) of all types of firearms is infinitesimal compared to the number of fatalities from car and home accidents. More children die from playing with cigarette lighters than from playing with loaded guns." -- Paul Craig Roberts
