Tea Party & RINO Alert! FL Gov. Scott’s honeymoon is over as both parties attack his budget!

imageBy John Sykes

Here we go again. Not only Democrats but RINO Republican state legislators are going after Gov. Scott’s bold conservative budget. How dare he lower taxes, lessen the number of state employees or touch the sacred educational cow?

Some of today’s Miami Herald absurdities:

The criticisms and tough questions weren’t limited to Democrats; Scott’s fellow Republicans were skeptical of what many thought were skimpy details in his $65.9 billion budget.

Yes. The RINOs are at it!

The bipartisan concerns underscored a growing sense in the Legislature that Scott’s proposal is rooted in unrealistic political calculations, not the subtle calculus it takes to run the nation’s fourth-most populous state. In the House K-12 budget committee on Tuesday morning, eyebrows arched and heads shook as lawmakers tried digesting Scott’s plan to slash state-paid per-student spending by 10 percent.

So our legislators have that “subtle calculus”. And they are more qualified and have the ability to build a major corporation as Scott has done?

A 10 percent reduction is a significant cut,” said committee Chairwoman Marti Coley, R-Marianna.

Since when is a 10% cut in anything significant. These guys need to see what has been happening to We The People’s budgets!

Coley and Rep. Janet Adkins scolded Scott’s office for trying to "have it both ways" with the education budget. Scott said he’s against the use of federal stimulus money, but his office tacitly encourages school districts to use the money to boost per-pupil spending.

Oh, oh! Scott’s threatening our over-paid, over-perked and often under-qualified education bureaucrats!

In the House health appropriations committee, Republicans and Democrats flummoxed another Scott aide who had difficulties explaining his plans to cut $3 billion from Medicaid over two years.

“My math tells me that the 2,500 jobs that you’re getting rid of only leads to a 4 percent reduction in the budget,” Diaz said. “It’s only an $8 million savings in an almost $3 billion budget. That seems like a significant loss of jobs for a very small gain.”

Only 2500 jobs? Our legislators are living in never-never land. Note that RINO Diaz is a GOPer.

If you bother to read the rest of the Miami Herald article, you’ll see some blather about the Tea Party movement’s outsized role.

You might want to go pickout the rest of the RINO’s mouthing negatives like Senate President Mike Haridopolos, House Speaker Dean Cannon, Rep. Bryan Nelson and Rep. Mike Horner.

This local microcosm may only be a hint to what’s going to happen at the federal level. Conservative politicians are going to be increasingly RINO-bound. Tea Party patriots everywhere need to keep the pressure on!

FLASH! This was just posted by Allen West:

My reasons for voting yes to Patriot Act extension

by Congressman Allen West on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 12:41pm

1-  Several of the 911 terrorists used public computers to review their September 11th plane tickets- ( this happened in the very district I represent- so this is personal to me)

2- Without roving wiretap authority, investigators would be forced to seek a new court order each time they need to change the location, phone or computer that needs to be monitored.  Terrorists and foreign spies use multiple communications devices to evade detection.

3- This provision would prevent terrorists who work on their own from escaping surveillance simply because they are not agents of a foreign power or avowed members of an international terrorist group:  think Major Hasan- Fort Hood, and the Times Square Bomber

I care about this country and this all comes down to protecting us from a REAL enemy that has found a new battleground: The United States.  Law abiding citizens liberties will be respected.
