According to a recent Gallup Poll, 42% of Americans consider themselves to be "conservative" or "very conservative." The same poll shows that only 20% consider themselves "liberal" or "very liberal."
This sounds encouraging...and to a degree, it is. But the poll also shows 35% of Americans consider themselves to be "moderates," which in turn breaks down into two component groups: people who are too clueless about the news to have a meaningful opinion, and people who are closet liberals and don't want to admit it.
And seriously, who can blame them? Would you want to take responsibility for debt skyrocketing out of control, open borders, failure to contain oil spills, rising healthcare costs, the collapse of America's foreign policy, record joblessness, rising taxes and, worst of all, The View?
Of course, the only numbers that really matter are the ones we'll be seeing in November. And we can hardly wait...
