Obama, Islam, and Iran - Can we be so naive?

by thesteadyconservative.com

Last month Obama held a White House dinner to celebrate the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. In his speech Obama said that Islam is “a great religion”. He regularly describes Islam as a peaceful religion. It is scary that our President has so little accurate knowledge of the history of Islam, its violent beginnings, and its violent and oppressive teachings. Or perhaps scarier is that he does understand and is using the Islamic principle of deceit to further Islam. For the record, I believe it is the former. And that is not uncommon for most Americans. Even I cannot claim that I am some type of expert, but the more I learn, the more I understand the threat that this religion poses.
Somehow Obama has not gotten this message. In his Cairo speech, Obama made the following statements.

“Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.”

“The Holy Koran teaches that whoever kills an innocent, it is as if he has killed all mankind; and whoever saves a person, it is as if he has saved all mankind. The enduring faith of over a billion people is so much bigger than the narrow hatred of a few. Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism - it is an important part of promoting peace.”

“As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam. It was Islam that carried the light of Renaissance and Enlightenment.”

All of these statements have no factual backing whatsoever. Both history and the Koran itself show the exact opposite. Take the first statement. Through revelations from Allah, Muhammad tells Muslims that they are required to give non-believers three choices. 1. Accept Islam. 2. Pay the jizya tax and live under dhimma status. 3. Death. History has shown that these principles have been followed ever since Muhammad’s day. Some toleration. And this without even touching the subject of women’s oppression.

The second Obama statement is even more deceptive. He is paraphrasing Qur’an 5:32. The passage is actually part of a warning to the Children of Israel to not make war against Muhammad. The Qur’an distinguishes between believers and un-believers with regard to murder. If an unbeliever kills a believer, then the punishment is death. If a believer kills an unbeliever, then there can only be a fine because an unbeliever is a second class person. But as with all Islamic rules, if it benefits Islam then it is justified.

The third Obama statement is a complete fallacy. A PC myth. Most of the enlightenment was either copied from non-Muslim cultures or completed by non-Muslims living under their rule. There are entire books written on this.

So how do you wade through all this mis-information put out by un-educated apologists such as Obama. Well, it is easy. You educate yourself. I recently read a book that does an excellent job of describing the PC myths of Islam and debunks them with factual data. It is The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and The Crusades by Robert Spencer. It is a very easy read and contains a lot of good information as well as lists of other books to read for more in depth study. Here are some of the basic things about Islam you might not know.
The ultimate goal of Islam is for the world to be ruled by one Islamic state governed by Sharia Law
This state is to be realized by any means necessary to include the sword
The Qur’an chapters are not in chronological order, but rather organized by length
The Qur’an is split into two main sections based upon when they are written (although they are not in order in the Qur’an as mentioned above). The more peaceful sections were written by Muhammad while he was in Mecca teaching the message of one god to pagans there. The second more violent section was written when he left Mecca because his message was not taking hold. He moved to Medina and started raiding caravans and killing those who rebuked him out of revenge. He was basically the equivalent of a stage coach robber in the old west except he was a self proclaimed prophet of Allah.
The Islamic doctrine of abrogation cancels the more peaceful passages from the earlier writings of Muhammad (when he was in Mecca) and replaces them with the more violent passages written later.
Muhammad’s revelations from Allah coincidentally came from deeds from his own life. For example: Allah revealed to Muhammad that it was good to marry underage girls. Muhammad’s favorite wife was six when he married her and he consummated the marriage when she was 9.
Muhammad sent a threatening letter to the surrounding rulers telling them to submit to Islam if they want to remain safe shortly before he died. His successors carried out his orders and attacked these rulers. This was around 630 AD. The imperialistic Islamic state continued its aggression against Christian states for the next 4 centuries.
The first Crusade wasn’t called until 1095 in response to a call for help from the Byzantine emperor whose Christian empire had been reduced to just about nothing because of the Muslim aggression.

Now don’t you feel a little more educated. And this is really just the tip of the iceberg. Islam has really not changed much over the years. There are many moderate Muslims around the world, but the problem is that they are only moderate because they are not choosing to follow true Islam. Either because they do not truly understand the religion they profess or because they are simply ignoring the core teachings of the Qur’an. Kind of like the way many Christians pick and choose what they want to believe in the Bible. The only difference is that it is a good thing when you are talking about the Qur’an because it teaches violence.

I mentioned Iran in the title of the post as well. That is because Iran is one of the Modern countries that are ruling according to the teachings of the Qur’an. Despite Obama’s apology tour, and his misunderstanding of the very faith he grew up in, countries like Iran still persecute the unbelievers. Now we cannot just call another Crusade to help the persecuted Christians around the world, but we can defeat this evil religion. And we can do it with prayer. What better place to begin than Iran. Elam ministries have released a prayer guide called Iran30 and also have a website promoting them. It is a guide to help people pray each day for 30 days for our Iranian brothers and sisters in Christ. Elam ministries is secretly spreading the gospel in Iran, but as you can imagine it is not easy. All they are asking for is prayer.

I was sent a copy of this book by Advancing Native Missions. They have a modest goal of getting 100 churches in 100 days to use these guides to pray for Iran. If you are interested or think your church may be please check out the links to their website. Last night I also scanned the entire prayer guide so I can send it to you via email if you wish. Just drop me a comment or email. Have a blessed weekend.
