Early in his drive to destroy the America that many of us have grown up knowing and loving, Barack Hussein Obama commented that those who opposed him should quit clinging to their guns and religion. He has followed this up by generating policy after policy that angered anyone with a traditional morality and a sense of right and wrong.
We have seen the confrontations between the Catholic Church and the Obama regime over the ObamaKare provisions requiring inclusion of abortificants in the government mandated insurance scheme. They are to be applauded for their principled stand. Unfortunately, the silence from the rest of the Christian community is deafening.
This is understandable from the part of the church that has been victimized by the “social justice” deception. They have fallen for the a form of secular humanism, disguised by sanctified terms. Far too much of the rest of the church appears to be either too unconcerned or too fearful to join the battle to save the little ones. They apparently have no stomach for stands against the other egregious activities of the administration either.
The frightening thing about the withdrawal from the world around us is the similarity our time to the early years of Martin Niemöller who spent spent seven years in prison for his opposition to the Nazi takeover in Germany. He is reported to have said:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out–Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out–Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out–Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me–and there was no one left to speak for me.
