The Only Way to Stop a Gun is With a Gun

By John Sykes

How is it that you should restrict my right to protect myself and my loved ones by taking away my ability to do so?

You want me to sacrifice my loved ones to your inability to protect them because of some misguided, delusional wish to control everything and everybody around you??

Gun control is not about guns. It's about control.

We need more, not less, citizens who will protect themselves and those around them. We can't put enough police on the streets, in our schools and public places, in the "gun-free" zones that evil uses so much because evil knows it is less likely to get shot itself.

Have you not noticed that by far the majority of these horrific events occur in "gun-free zones" like schools, post offices, government settings, and other places like the theater in Aurora where misguided people have banned weapons?

From Daniel Greenfield at frontpagemag.com:

America now has its second worst mass shooting. And it, as usual, accompanied by calls for gun control. It’s no coincidence that we have had quite a few spree killings in such a short time. The lavish coverage of every shooting by the media encourages every shooter to think that he will be famous if he goes out and kills. And that is exactly what happens.
Our shooters are creatures of the media, not the NRA. A media that turns killers into celebrities and then warns that the only way to stop more shootings is by cracking down on firearms.
But no amount of media coverage ever stopped a man with a gun. It only encouraged him. It takes a gun to stop a man with a gun. That is the hard truth of human affairs. It is why we have a Second Amendment, it is why we have armies and police, and it is why people own guns.
There is no going back to a time before people owned guns. There is no going back to a time when violence did not exist. There is only the reality that killers stalk the streets and that we can either defend against them or take comfort in empty outrage.
Guns stop shootings. Not all the time and not every time, but they do. Gun control does not. Media coverage calling for gun control does not.
You are going to have to realize that it is evil that you must control, that you must ban. Most of all, you must realize that evil comes from within and no amount of wishful thinking, of societal control, is going to change this.

Evil only cares about surviving at least long enough to carry out it's purpose.

It is foolhardy and dangerous to take away our ability to defend ourselves and those we love.

Unless you have evil intentions yourself...
