The New Reactionaries: The causes of poverty, the effects of liberal policies — such things are undiscussable. .… today the liberal vision — the blue-state model, the Democratic orthodoxy, whatever we wish to call it — is a rigid creed that demands ever more government spending and ever more government redistribution. It fosters an ever-growing elite technocracy that oversees the system but wins the capital and influence to be unaffected by the ramifications of its own ideology. Reactionary liberalism, as some sort of cult, assumes that its policies are exempt from audit, and that indeed to audit them casts suspicion on the motives and aims of the auditor himself.
The basic difference between liberals who support a managed economy and conservatives who support the dynamism of the free market is that liberals believe that just a few men are smart enough to make decisions for the rest of us, men who we all know lied their way into power. To the liberal, everyone else is too stupid to be allowed the freedom to make choices that will affect all of us, because who elected them? The conservative knows that lying your way into power doesn't make you a genius. It makes you a liar. While we also know that everyone in the marketplace isn't a genius and many are liars, we're willing to let the chips fall where they may, knowing that the best answer to any particular problem will be found through the ingenuity and creativity of men seeking solutions that directly benefit them. Because in the freedom of the marketplace no idea can be forced on another. All men must choose to participate. This element of choice in every decision insures a more equitable distribution of power. The government removes choice because it has all the power.
Christian Charity: Of course we need to be charitable, but my experience has shown that those of us who are characterized as heartless, because we do not want to have the government rob one set of neighbors to benefit another set of neighbors, give many times the paltry sums contributed to charity by our professional do-gooder elites who seek to shame us into doing things their way… a way that never has worked, and never will.
Where is the Obama Administration's Spring 2012 regulatory agenda? By law, it's supposed to be published by now—but the Administration is keeping mum on its plans for new regulations going into the election. [Surely our transparent president wouldn’t fool us?]
