IRAN'S SUPREME LEADER PRAISES OBAMA'S ISRAEL STONEWALLING: Of course the Iranians sure are impressed with the fine job Obama is doing on their behalf, and to prove it, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is praising President Obama for trying to dissuade Israel from attacking Iran. And to hedge his bets, the Khamenei also made it clear that “there would be consequences for the United States… if a premature strike is launched on Iran.” [Did you ever imagine seeing a headline like this in the USA? Can Obama do anymore to shame us? – JS]
“When examining the negative consequences of Obamian policies do not assume those consequences were unintended” ~ John Sykes
Bankrupting America: There are problems with the public perception [of Medicare and SS], of course, starting with the fact that the way our politicians have defined "trust funds" is fraudulent. But those problems reflect the failings and deceptions of politicians rather than voters. In Social Security and Medicare, voters are not looking for a handout. They are looking for a return on money invested… While most voters view excessive government spending as the problem, those who feel entitled to rule over the rest of us see the voters as the problem. And that's the real entitlement crisis facing the nation today. The political class wants to govern like it's 1775, a time when kings were kings and consent of the governed didn't matter. [It’s about time someone said this. I don’t want one more penny than I have earned! – JS]
How Rush Handled a Compromising Advertiser: [Brilliantly! – JS] Right now, it seems like a small thing for a company to pull its ads from a radio talk show, but we are in desperate times. The day may come when Sleep Train may not be able to do business as usual because of draconian laws that are in the Obama pipeline. Sleep Train and the other companies that dropped Rush need to get on board the right train, because their freedoms are about to leave the station.
Government Policy: Save Money, Don't Have Kids: “The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for the cost of contraception,” Sebelius said. She went on to say the estimated cost is “down not up.” Put another way: Kids are expensive, we can't afford 'em, and everybody needs to stop having them. This view has been around since the days of the Yuppies, but it's still startling to see a high government official put it so bluntly. [Margaret Sanger lives on: “The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it ” – JS]
Presidential Pork Kills Keystone: Yet, despite the majority vote, Senate rules apparently require a 60-vote supermajority to create jobs in this country. And according to Democrat Party rules, any vote to create jobs also has to have a massive, wasteful, multi-trillion dollar appropriation attached to it. This rules out Keystone. [Obummer just threw away many thousands of jobs – again – to mollify his leftist syncophants and get reelected. Surely this is a stupid decision? – JS]
“Have you heard this one? What do you call a law school co-ed who needs $1000 worth of birth control...annually? Evidently, in today’s politically correct society – a society devoid of the concept of shame – a women’s health advocate.” ~ Frank Salvato
"But our society -- unlike most in the world -- presupposes that freedom and
liberty are in a frame of reference that makes the individual, not government,
the keeper of his tastes, beliefs, and ideas; that is the philosophy of the
First Amendment; and it is this article of faith that sets us apart from most
nations in the world." -- William O. Douglas
Plan B vs. Religious Liberty > Not so Fast: Finally -- some good news in the battle between so-called reproductive rights and religious liberty… So, even though the Administration is seeking to trample religious rights by executive fiat, for now, at least, the courts are having none of it.
The Enemy Within:
Opponents of the bill in question, SB1070 declare it to be a racist attempt to keep people of darker skin from our world. This is the same argument they use about requiring valid identification when voting or any attempt to insure integrity of any of our systems. Yet, a careful reading of the [illegal immigration] bill shows no such verbage or intent.
It is plain that the people holding of offices of President and Attorney General are betraying the trust the American people place in those offices. To side with the criminals wreaking havoc on our entire country, not just the border states, is a treasonous response to the outcry of the American people for protection and justice.
Tea Party Movement Takes the Long View:
[Incredible! This is a surprisimngly even-handed Tea Party assessment from the NYT. – JS]
Some activists said the issue was not really a lack of passion for Mr. Romney or a corresponding inability to influence the nation as starkly as the movement did in 2010. It is that the movement has matured, they said, into one that is not looking to any one election or any one candidate, but to infuse its ideas and values into the political system from the ground up and take the long view.
“The Tea Party didn’t die,” said Jennifer Stefano, a Tea Party activist and state director in Pennsylvania for Americans for Prosperity. “The Tea Party got busy organizing on a precinct level based on the issues.”
INCREDIBLE! Chicago Police Head Raises Money for CAIR: The Islamist pressure campaign against major law enforcement agencies is bearing fruit. They have put the NYPD on the defensive, thanks to some help from deceitful articles in the New York Times. And now, Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy has even agreed to speak at a fundraiser for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a group that the FBI has officially cut ties with over its links to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
