Conservative on Target! - 2/29/12

Obama's Mythical America > The president will win if his Depression-era picture of America goes unanswered: In politics, simple works, if simple is repeated and goes unanswered… But this rewrite of reality is precisely where Mr. Obama is most vulnerable. The economic and social world Barack Obama inhabits, and has always inhabited, is totally static. Your lot in life—income, status, mobility—is largely set, with little prospect of escaping upward…. Most Americans are not so credulous. But unless the GOP candidates start spending more time dismantling Obama's mythical America instead of each other, this grim fairy tale could win.

Everett Dirksen, A Gravely Voice Of Wisdom:
We can’t just assume that the party label is enough to help us identify the good guys. It’s time to make sure that the reduced government and spending rhetoric we hear is more than just rhetoric. Character and governing records count and we need elected public servants (not rulers) who say what they mean and mean what they say. The ruling class has gotten away with saying one thing to us and doing the opposite for far to long.
For those whose holy grail is “electability”, I have to ask what is the point, if, once in office, the candidate does the same foolish things the current president (or congressman or senator) is doing? It is a slap in the face of the American people to say that they cannot understand a properly presented case rather than a pandering supplication. Many in the mushy middle thought Ronald Reagan was unelectable… and they were wrong.

The Dems' Hail Marry: One thing the Left hasn't given up for Lent? Its social agenda. The liberal wing of the Democratic Party seems intent on making marriage a wedge issue--after spending the last six months accusing conservatives of distracting America with the same debate! This week, the co-chairs of the Congressional Progressive Caucus joined Rep. Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) pitch to bring San Francisco values to the entire country by making same-sex "marriage" an official part of the Democratic platform. The Caucus's Co-Chairs, Reps. Paul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), signed the "Democrats: Say, I Do!" pledge, which claims 70% of Americans suddenly support homosexual "marriage." That's odd, since the latest New York Times/CBS poll found only 40% backing for counterfeit marriage (Question 70). Regardless, the media seems surprisingly mum about the Democrats' offensive, since it has consistently called the focus on social issues a losing election strategy. After weeks of blasting the presidential candidates for speaking up on values, can we expect pundits to criticize the Left for being "off message" too?

Buy a Gun & Keep Your Powder Dry: Economists Warn of Looming Economic 9/11‘BUY A GUN’ & ‘KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY’: ECONOMISTS WARN OF LOOMING ‘ECONOMIC 9/11′:

Get out of the way,” Dent advises… His solution? Buy short-term U.S. Treasury bills and the U.S. dollar…
Celente advises investors to buy gold – it won’t lose its purchasing power when the dollar tanks. Also, he says, buy a gun to protect yourself from marauders in search of food and money. He also advises people to plan a getaway to places with “more stable finances and governments.”
Prechter’s advice? Simple: keep your powder dry and buy when the economy starts to get out of hand. “When things get really scary, as in early 2009, I get bullish,” he said. [Prudence, Folks, prudence! Be prepared, not scared! – JS]

Is the Church Full of Hypocrites? At that point in time, Dr. D. James Kennedy responded to this objection by replying, "Well, there's always room for one more." He cautioned people that if they found a perfect church, they ought not to join it, since that would ruin it.

"Since when have we Americans been expected to bow submissively to authority
and speak with awe and reverence to those who represent us?" -- William O. Douglas
(1898-1980), U. S. Supreme Court Justice

"Our children are our glory and honor, they were created to be fertilizer for the land of Palestine, and for our pure land to be saturated with their blood." ~ Palestinian TV [Barbarity! – JS]

By, of, and for Whom? The People and the Ruling Class:
The very survival of our republic depends on the consent of the governed. Abraham Lincoln said it well; our government is a government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
But look at where we are today. The ruling class, increasingly cut off from the daily lives of ordinary Americans, has become an elites governmental equivalent of the Pharisees: “they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.” That’s from Matthew 23:3-4.
And the American people are fed up — from the Tea Party to the Occupy movement. The people are not being heard. This is unsustainable.
