Conservative on Target! Mediocrity, Early 20s, Mobs, Mamet, Blowhards, FDR & More

The Government Job-Training Juggernaut > President Obama campaigned this week for “new and innovative approaches” to America’s economic crisis. So naturally, the futurist-in-chief filched his fresh, bold ideas straight from . . . the 1930s. The grand new solution to the jobs deficit, according to the White House, is more FDR-style federal job-training spending.

The Earth is Full… of Hypocritical Eco Blowhards > Thomas Friedman had a column in Wednesday’s New York Times entitled “The Earth is Full.” In the column, Friedman called for people to work less and own less in order to save the planet. Bla bla bla. … Newsbusters points out that the July 2006 issue of Washingtonian magazine called Friedman’s home “a palatial 11,400-square-foot house, now valued at $9.3 million, on a 7.5-acre parcel…”

"The great wickedness of Liberalism," Mamet discovered, "was that those who devise the ever-new state Utopias ... set out to bankrupt and restrict not themselves, but others." … Mamet first observes his own hypocrisy, recognizing the disconnect between how he acted and how he talked, "talking Left and living Right," which leads him to a collective indictment of himself and others in his generation of baby boomers, whose ideology has never quite been in sync with the real world they inhabit.

'Demonic' Is Angelic: “But it's not just the liberals' choice in regimes that parallels the French revolutionary tradition. It is their strategy to advance their policy agenda through exploitation of mob psychology, a phenomenon we are witnessing with alarming frequency today, especially under the Obama administration.”

"There are many well-meaning people today who work at placing an economic floor beneath all of us so that no one shall exist below a certain level or standard of living, and certainly we don't quarrel with this. But look more closely and you may find that all too often these well-meaning people are building a ceiling above which no one shall be permitted to climb and between the two are pressing us all into conformity, into a mold of standardized mediocrity." -- Ronald Reagan

So Pilate said to him, “You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you?” Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above.”
--John 19:10, 11
