Can't legislate it, regulate it! EPA Considering Ban on Traditional Ammunition:
With the fall hunting season fast approaching, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Lisa Jackson, who was responsible for banning bear hunting in New Jersey, is now considering a petition by the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) – a leading anti-hunting organization – to ban all traditional ammunition under the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976, a law in which Congress expressly exempted ammunition.
If the EPA approves the petition, the result will be a total ban on all ammunition containing lead-core components, including hunting and target-shooting rounds. The EPA must decide to accept or reject this petition by November 1, 2010, the day before the midterm elections.
[Forget that We The People overwhelmingly support the 2nd Amendment. Just do away with it by regulation! How long are we going to let petty corruptocrats, guided by His-Arrogance-In-Chief, stomp on us? We need to start letting the bureaucrats know that we know they are a very, very large part of the problem and plan to correct that! – JS ]
Obama’s Latest Stealth Amnesty:
Although a large majority of Americans support enforcing immigration law, the Obama administration has undertaken a series of steps to impose amnesty upon the country by fiat. Administration officials are largely ignoring the law, forbidding local officers from keeping their communities safe, and preparing a federally imposed plan of amnesty without a single representative voting on it – all to secure a loyal Democratic voting bloc….
ICE is ignoring the will of the people because 67 percent of Hispanics voted for Barack Obama in 2008. So did 79 percent of Hispanic youth – the beneficiaries of the DREAM Act. If they were citizens, their sheer numbers would swallow up many bastions of traditional conservatism, and their voting patterns would ensure a left-wing majority for decades to come. No wonder the Center for Immigration Studies is hosting a conference asking, “Can Conservatism Survive Mass Immigration?”

Is Newt Gingrich Wrong to Talk About Sharia?:
In a recent article appearing in Tablet, Lee Smith takes Newt Gingrich to task for the latter’s focus on sharia (i.e., Islamic law). The thrust of Smith’s argument is that sharia is a “hopelessly abstract concept” and “a highly idealized version of reality that has little basis in fact”; that sharia is “a catchall phrase for legal principles that have rarely, if ever, existed in actual Muslim societies”; and that “the notion that something called ‘sharia’ was widely imposed throughout the lands of Islam is an Orientalist fantasy.”
[ Of course Newt isn’t wrong. The rest of this article is best refuted by the doings in Hamtrack, Michigan and by the recent decision by a New Jersey judge that a Muslim’s sexual mistreatment of his wife in the USA was okay because it was allowed by his religion. This was later overturned but sharia is here and rooting around for a base – like NYC’s Cordoba mosque! – JS ]
Obama Making Everybody Angry: Long-time liberal Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel … reacted to criticism from the President, who called on him to "end his career with dignity, by remarking that Obama hasn't "been around long enough to determine what my dignity is." He added sarcastically that it's more likely to be the other way around over the next two years, predicting the time will come when it will be he who will have to protect the president's dignity.
Side Effects: College Students May Lose Health Care Option Under Obamacare: [ Students without parental coverage may find that colleges will not be able to meet the requirements of ObamaCare and thus also owe for not being covered. – JS ]
“God often visits us, but most of the time we are not at home.” French proverb
“Many politicians are in the habit of laying it down as a self-evident proposition that no people ought to be free till they are fit to use their freedom. The maxim is worthy of the fool in the old story who resolved not to go into the water till he had learned to swim.” ~Thomas Macaulay
Obama administration hid pro-abstinence study while program funding was slashed:In response to public pressure, the Department of Health and Human Services has disclosed a taxpayer-funded study that reflects positively on abstinence education, having first kept the full study under wraps while funding for such programs was slashed. [ Remember. The political class has the right to do this. They know what’s best for us. WOW! – JS ]
