"In the last analysis, what the Marine Corps becomes is what we make of it during our respective watches. And that watch of each Marine is not confined to the time he spends on active duty. It last as long as he is “proud to bear the title of United States Marine.”—Gen Louis H. Wilson, 26th CMC, 22 Aug. 1975

Bad Week for the Dems! : Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) apologized for privately referring to Barack Obama early in his presidential campaign as a "light-skinned" African American "with no Negro dialect,” - What Bill Clinton really thinks of Obama?: “A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.”

What They Told Us: Reviewing Last Week's Key Polls from Rasmussen: The week ended with unemployment still at 10%, and most of our indicators show Americans remain pretty gloomy about the country's economic future. No wonder they're sour on Congress and the president and what they're up to. --- Daily Presidential Tracking Poll: The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-three percent (43%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.

“a recession is when a neighbor loses his job; a depression is when you lose your job; and a recovery begins when a Democrat loses his.” Ed Lasky

The number Democrats should fear the most by Ed Lasky at americanthinker.com: But there is another number Democrats should fear because it was used by them and then against them three decades ago. This number is  the misery index and was used by Jimmy Carter to help him defeat Gerald Ford and then was used by Reagan against Carter a few years later… The Misery Index is the sum of a nation’s unemployment, interest rates, and inflation figures…  The misery index now stands at 12.8%, the highest since 1991 and 3 points above its average since then.
