Even More Incredible! Police Officer jokes on Facebook about shooting gun rights advocates! Will this be another Van Jones moment where the press ignores stories it doesn't like? The fact that I was alerted to this incident via email when I read the NYT, WSJ, and several other papers as part of my morning routine tells me that this story won't get much traction until it's so big the media can't ignore it. How will this be spun by the media when they do finally cover it? My bet's on the press story line going like this "Second amendment activists are dangerous and have no sense of humor, threaten police officer for making joke."
Garry Kasparov produces some great quotes in The U.S. Goes Wobbly on Russia:
**"..we have a political-correctness culture that gives priority to protecting feelings instead of lives."
**".. America continues to move from Keynesian to Ponzian economics.."
**"But promises are for candidates. Fulfilling promises is for leaders."
WV Coal Civil War? - Dem. Rockefeller illustrates yet more of BHO saying one thing but doing another! ” Referring to Obama’s pledges to support coal, the senator complained that, “He says it in his speeches, but he doesn’t say it in (his budget proposal). He doesn’t say it in the actions of (EPA Administrator) Lisa Jackson. And he doesn’t say it in the minds of my own people. And he’s beginning to not be believable to me.”
“I'd rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.” William F. Buckley, Jr.
Truth and Reconciliation - The Democratic plan to force health care onto Obama's desk. So even as Democrats themselves acknowledge that one reason the public hates ObamaCare so much is the corrupt tactics they have used to advance it through Congress, they still plan to try to land this Pelosian triple-handspring-quadruple pole vault to passage.
Escape from Taxation - A new NJ study shows that wealth flees after taxes rise.
INCREDIBLE! GA legislature considering a bill (S.B. 304) to decriminalize the prostitution of children by Janice Crouse at townhall.com - In the case of minors who are being sexually exploited, being well-meaning is not enough. We cannot be naive and seek faux-utopian solutions; we have to take a hard-nosed look at what works and what provides the best protection and opportunity to rescue those held captive by street-smart pimps who know how to work the system.
Yet more victims in gun-free zone in AL univ. where personnel were denied the right to self-defense.
